KYDRUN

I stared into the bluest eyes
that I'd ever seen,
as I held you in my arms,
our little life-long dream.
I marveled at the beauty
of my brand new baby boy,
I kissed your head
and welcomed you
as you filled our lives with joy.

I closed my eyes and said a prayer
to thank the Lord above,
and promised Him we'd do our best
to teach you of His love.
Counting your fingers once again
I have yet to understand,
All the good that you will do
with these tiny little hands.
As a boy, and then a man
you will hold a special power,
and the Lord will call you
to serve Him every hour.
We want so much to teach you
how to follow the Savior's will,
but please be patient and understand
that we too are learning still.

At this moment there you are
upon your Daddy's chest,
cradled in his endless love
as he holds you there to rest.
Softly I touch your velvet cheek
and foresee the day you're grown,
a very strong and handsome man
with a family of your own.
But for now, just rest my son
there's much growing yet to do.
Always remember, Every Day,
how much we have ALWAYS loved you.
